Golden Milk Paste recipe

As I brewed up a mug of our newest blend, anti-inflammatory powerhouse, Golden Milk turmeric powder, I was instantly reminded of the days when GMT had an intimate teahouse off the beaten path in Hood River.

As I stood over my stovetop brewing the tea, I pictured myself behind the counter of the teahouse. I heard the sound of boots on the porch’s wooden stairs, letting us know a customer was coming to join us, and I saw the smiling faces of friends as they shared gossip and pots of steaming tea.

Now, Golden Milk turmeric powder, a customer favorite at the teahouse, is available for our website customers!

Golden Milk powder is our take on a traditional “Golden Milk” recipe— bursting with antioxidants and paired with black pepper to aid the absorption of anti-inflammatory compounds like curcumin. We include ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom to give this earthy elixir a hint of warming chai spice.

At the teahouse, we used this powder to make Golden Milk Paste.

To make Golden Milk Paste using our powder:

  3. Stir frequently, until paste forms (5-10 minutes).

You’re done! Store paste in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

What can you do with Golden Milk Paste? We love adding it to:

  • Steamed milk for a latte (aka “Golden Milk”, a traditional Indian drink, rooted in Ayurveda)

  • Bone broth bowls

  • Smoothies

  • Chai or Coffee
