It's lavender season in the Gorge!
Spoiler: your subscriber perk involves lavender. Locally grown, biodynamic lavender.
We source some of our lavender from Analemma Wines (located 8 1/2 miles from us, in Mosier OR). Local sourcing is a primary goal for us—each year we work hard (Turner in particular) to increase the amount of our ingredients grown close to home.
But that’s not the only reason we love Analemma’s lavender! It. Tastes. Amazing.
According to the US Lavender Growers Association, there are over 45 different species of lavender, with over 450 varieties. Analemma grows three of those varieties, including Royal Velvet (Lavandula angustifolia ‘Royal Velvet’), a variety known for its deep purple color, and sweet, floral flavor— it’s perfect for tea.
We love this lavender, but there's a limited quantity each year— when it’s gone, it’s gone. Because it's so limited, Lavender Truffle is usually our only tea made with Analemma lavender.
BUT—it's lavender season, it's fun to experiment, and I want everyone to taste this lavender!
For your August subscriber perk, we’re blending up special batches of Mizz Grey and Alpenglow using Analemma lavender.
Use the tea name as a code (MIZZGREY -or- ALPENGLOW) to add a free sample to your order this month.
Cheers,
